The Animal Control Section provides quality enforcement
pertaining to public safety, animal control and animal welfare. Our animal
control officers are highly trained, experienced certified professionals.
Officers investigate animal abuse and respond to a
variety of citizen requests for service. Services include:
containment law enforcement, regulating vicious/dangerous dogs, rabies control,
bite quarantines and investigations. Animal control officers cover 265
square miles of Lumpkin County. They also work closely with the Georgia
Department of Natural Resources in capture and relocation of native wild
animals.
The Animal Control Section falls within the
Uniform Patrol Division of the Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office.
