Lumpkin County Sheriff's Office

Civil / Warrant Division

The Civil / Warrant Division has four separate units within the Division. The Division comes under the command of Capt. Tony Garcia. The day-to-day operations of the Division are handled by Lt. Scott Martin. Below is the command structure:

One Captain ( also the Detention Center Captain )

One Lieutenant

One Sergeant

Four Deputies

One Warrant Clerk

The four Divisions are:

Civil Division

Courthouse Security

Warrants

Transports

The Civil Division receives Civil papers and Subpoenas on a daily basis from the Courts, Clerk of Court and lawyers. These Deputies serve Civil papers, Subpoenas, and execute Writ of Possessions (evictions), levy of personal property on FiFa's and “keep the peace”. The papers are prepared by the Warrant Clerk and divided into the 4 zones.

The Courthouse Security Division is responsible for providing security in the Courtroom for Magistrate, Juvenile, Probate, and Superior Courts. This includes the presiding Judges and other Courthouse personnel. It is very important to maintain security at all levels for the people who have business within the confines of the Courthouse.

The Warrant Division Deputies are to investigate and locate persons who are wanted

by Law Enforcement. They also assist other Law Enforcement Agencies when they come to Lumpkin County for a warrant.

The Transport Division is responsible for all transports of detainees from other agencies and State facilities across the State. They also transport detainees to doctor appointments and Court appearances. The Transport Division is also charged with transport of patients to mental health facilities in accordance with Georgia Law.

The Deputies within the Division are proud to be part of the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office and work hard to be professional Law Enforcement Deputies
