    Cash Bond

An inmate may post a cash bond with cash or a cashier’s check equal to the total amount of the bond. The Surety must also have a valid state issued I.D. to post the bond

Property Bond

Inmates may be released on a property bond, provided the surety owns property equal to or exceeding the amount of the bond.

Things the surety needs in order to make a property bond:

A copy of the warranty deed and / or any other deed that proves ownership.

A tax receipt from the tax commissioner’s office, showing fair market value of the property; printed the same day you wish to post the bond.

All persons on the property deed must be present and have proper identification.

Things that will disqualify property from being used as collateral:

An inmate cannot be the owner of the property.

Property can only have one bond lien against it at any given time.

Bonding Company

Inmates eligible for property bond may enter into a contractual agreement with a professional bondsman to serve as surety on their bond. Only those bondsmen approved by the Sheriff may serve as surety for any bonds written at the Lumpkin County Detention Center.

Visitation Procedures

Visitation notification is the sole responsibility of the inmate. At no time and for no reason will an officer be responsible for telling a friend or family member the date and time of an inmate’s visit.
