"Roswell Man Arrested for Growing Marijuana in Lumpkin County"

On September 23rd Ronald Albert Saklem (47) of Roswell was arrested by investigators from the Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Burglary Section in a wooded area off of Brady Edge Rd.

Investigators discovered the plot and marijuana plant several days before. Trees had been cut, in order to allow sunlight in, and black mesh netting had been constructed around the plot in an apparent effort to conceal it. There was also evidence that as many as forty marijuana plants had possibly been grown and already cultivated.

Investigators conducted surveillance on the plot and at approximately 3:20 p.m. on September 23rd they observed Saklem enter the plot, pull the leaves from the marijuana plant and then remove the plant from the soil. Investigators emerged from their concealed positions and placed Salklem under arrest.

Salklem was charged with manufacturing marijuana and possession of marijuana (less than an ounce).

Investigators also seized Saklem’s 2001 Toyota Corolla.
