"Forty One Year
Old Arrested for Sale of Cocaine and Possession of Marijuana"
On September 26th Jon Claiborne
Wood (41), of Dahlonega, was charged with possession of marijuana and a
previous outstanding warrant for the sale of cocaine.
The investigation began when investigators
conducted a covert operation where they purchased a quantity of cocaine from
Wood. Investigators purchased the cocaine from Wood while he was out on bond
from a previous arrest by Lumpkin County Investigators for possession of
marijuana.
On September 26th, at
approximately 1:15 a.m., Lumpkin County Sheriff’s Office investigators
from the Narcotics and Burglary Section and the Appalachian Drug Task Force,
along with Canine Deputies, searched the apartment of Jon Wood. Wood’s
apartment is located in a room above Johnny B’s restaurant. There they
located a misdemeanor amount of marijuana.
